A very merry Christmas to all our members

We’ve had another incredible year this year. We’ve welcomed a growing number of serving officers and police staff to the Benevolent Fund.

Supporting our members is at the heart of everything we do and throughout 2018 we have given;
• £500 in shopping vouchers every month to support colleagues off work due to injury, stress or illness.
• Over £40,000 in charitable grants to help serving and retired officers, police staff and their families.
• Almost £20,000 has been given to members for short convalescence or rehabilitation breaks following illness, surgery or injury.
• Nearly 300 people have enjoyed a family seaside break at our Dorset holiday home.
• Essential health and well-being support is available to all 7000 of our members
• Over £20,000 has been given out this year to support West Midlands Police widows and orphans

All of this would not be possible without the loyal support of our members. Thank you for your valuable monthly contributions.

Fallen heroes remembered
We were honoured to support the West Midlands Police Memorial Service to commemorate 100 years of armistice on Friday 9th November. The loved ones of fallen heroes joined the Chief Constable, Dave Thompson, along with police colleagues for a moving service at Steelhouse Lane Lock-up. The memorial service featured the unveiling of an electronic Roll of Honour that paid tribute to the Birmingham, Coventry, Walsall and Wolverhampton police officers who joined the Armed Forces during World War I and World...

Benevolent Fund pays tribute to the late Tony Timms
It is with great sadness that we announce the recent death of Tony Timms who passed away, peacefully in his sleep, on 2 September. Most of Tony’s life was dedicated to the Police service. He was a valued member of our management committee, for almost 20 years, offering advice and support to its members. He was also still involved in the Management Committee of the Birmingham branch of NARPO. “He cared deeply and passionately about his serving and retired colleagues”,...
