Grateful donation from St Paul’s Club, Birmingham

A very big thank you to the members of St Paul’s Club, Birmingham, for a wonderful afternoon and for the warm welcome and hospitality.

The ‘City’s Club’, as it likes to be known, donated £250 to WMP Benevolent Fund last month when WMP Chief Constable Dave Thomas visited and a further £100 today.

The club dates back to the 1860’s and as well as being steeped in tradition and idiosyncrasies (yes, we now know what Walsall Sauce is!) it also provides a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for professionals to network.

Our chairman John Williams expressed his thanks to St Paul’s members for their kind donation and presented a certificate of thanks.

Donations, like these are so gratefully received and can make a huge difference to the lives of serving police colleagues and retired members when they need support.

He was also still involved in the Management Committee of the Birmingham branch of NARPO. “He cared deeply and passionately about his serving and retired colleagues”,...
