BENEFITS FOR POLICE OFFICERS, POLICE STAFF AND PCSOs

Subscribers to the WMP Benevolent Fund at a rate of £2 per month are entitled to the following benefits:

  1. Convalescence may be provided by prior arrangement with the Fund.
  2. Charitable grants:
    1. General hardship: Unlimited amount, at the discretion of the Management Committee.
    2. Where convalescence arranged by the Benevolent Fund: Convalescent expenses may be paid.
    3. In the event of sickness: Gifts of up to £20 may be given to members
    4. In the event of death of a serving member:
      1. A floral tribute may be purchased to the value of £45.
      2. The member's children, up to 16 years or in full time education up to the age of 18, receive an allowance of £25 per week and a Christmas gift of £75 per year.
      3. A death grant of £2,500 will be paid to a named recipient.
  3. Charitable loans: Subject to ability to repay, and in order to alleviate hardship or distress, a loan may be considered by the Management Committee.
  4. Optional membership of the Police Healthcare Scheme, which reduces the membership cost of the Benevolent Fund to £1 per month.
